Carter and Andy first met when they became coworkers at Loggerhead Marinelife Center. They instantly bonded over their passion for fish. This led to them spending countless hours snorkeling and fishing throughout South Florida. On Thanksgiving Day 2019, while snorkeling on the Breakers Reef off Palm Beach, Carter was struck by a large boat. Every limb was severely damaged by the propellers and he lost his right arm. Andy was the first to reach him and played a key role in Carter’s survival. While Carter was in the hospital, they started an Instagram account named "Floridafishboyz" to get back to doing what they love and to promote the healing process. Carter also started drawing fish and marine life during his recovery and all of the FloridaFishBoyz products feature his original artwork, hand-drawn with colored pencils.
The Etsy store includes t-shirts, stickers, and greeting cards that feature Carter's artwork. All of the profits from the sales (approximately one third of the order) will be donated to a specific non-profit organization.
